Refund & Cancellation Policy

At American Book Illustrations, we value our authors and want to ensure a clear understanding of how payments, cancellations, and refunds work. Please read this policy carefully before purchasing our services.
1. General Policy
- All services are customized and often begin shortly after order confirmation.
- Because of the personalized nature of our work (design, editing, ghostwriting, publishing support), full refunds are generally not available once work has started.
- However, we offer partial refunds or credits in certain cases (see below).
2. Cancellation Before Work Begins
If you cancel before any work has started, you are eligible for a 100% refund of your payment.
To cancel, you must notify us in writing at support@americanbookillustrations.com
3. Cancellation After Work Begins
If work has already begun, refunds may be partial, depending on the stage of the project:
- Up to 25% completed → 75% refund
- 25–50% completed → 50% refund
- More than 50% completed → no refund (you will still receive all completed work).
4. Non-Refundable Services
The following are non-refundable once initiated:
- ISBN registration and third-party fees (e.g., printing, retailer submissions).
- Completed design, editing, or ghostwriting work.
- Promotional services once campaigns have been launched.
5. Project Delays or Issues
If we are unable to complete your project due to our own fault, you will be entitled to a full or partial refund depending on work completed.
If delays occur due to missing materials, lack of communication, or other client-side issues, refunds are not guaranteed.
6. Disputed Charges
If you believe you have been billed incorrectly, please contact us within 7 days of receiving the invoice.
We will investigate and resolve disputes in good faith.
7. Refund Process
Approved refunds will be issued within 10–15 business days via the original payment method.
